The Art and Science of Literacy Intervention [Replay Access]

Winter 2026 Workshop Series (3 Sessions)

A three-part virtual winter workshop series for educators working beyond core instruction who want to strengthen their practice as literacy interventionists and learning specialists.

This is not an overview of literacy instruction. This is a practice-focused deep dive into how interventionists:

• interpret assessment and progress-monitoring data

• design explicit instruction grounded in learning science

• intensify intervention when students make slow or inconsistent progress

If you work in Tier 2 or Tier 3 spaces, this series is designed for you.

Workshop Schedule

All sessions are approximately 2.5 hours long.

• Part 1: Focus on Assessment
  Progress monitoring, diagnostics, and data-based instructional decision making

• Part 2: Focus on Instruction
  Designing and delivering explicit intervention using principles from the science of learning and instruction

• Part 3: Focus on Intensification
  Data-based individualization (DBI), intervention intensity, and responding to slow or inconsistent responders

By the end of the series, you will have:

• a clearer process for using data to decide what to teach next

• a working model for designing and intensifying explicit intervention

• practical frameworks for responding to non-responders

• greater confidence in your role as a literacy interventionist
